Displaying your action figures is an inherently satisfying activity, because it allows you to showcase all the figures you’ve acquired through your collecting journey. How will you jazz up your collection display though? Some people use epic backdrops, multi-tier display stands, and other various things; but probably one of the coolest things you can do to decorate your display are with are LED lights.
When it comes to lighting for your display area, you have quite a few different options. What kind of style do you want for your action figure display? What will make it blend in with the rest of the aesthetic of your room? What kind of figures are you going to be displaying, and is there a particular kind of LED lighting solution that will go well with them? Hopefully, this article will give you some ideas about what will work best for you.

1. LED Light Strips
Let’s start off with LED light strips. Everyone loves LED light strips, they look great when stuck to the back of your TV, lining the floor of your bedroom, stuck underneath furniture, and, yes, they can look great when used on your action figure display shelf.
Whether you’re using bookshelves, storage cabinets, or display cases you should be able to get LED light strips mounted in there.
2. Light Bar
LED Light Bars can be stood up with your figures and may look really cool standing up behind your figures and facing the wall behind them or the back of the bookshelf. This could create cool ambient light behind your figure display.

3. Puck Lights
Another interesting option for you are puck lights. When you buy puck lights, you will probably get about 6-12 pucks which you can mount around your action figure display however you like. These can work well in cabinets, cases, and shelves.
4. Pixel Lights
Pixel Lights are usually used when decorating for Christmas and the holidays. They can be used to create all sorts of “light-o-ramas”. These sorts of lights make for great large projects and would probably be good for ambitious and creative individuals who aren’t afraid of a challenge.

5. Matrix Lights
If you like some the things you can do with Pixel Lights, but you can’t see yourself putting the time and effort into some of the projects, perhaps consider Matrix Lights instead.
6. Curtain Lights
Curtain lights are frequently used for exactly what they sound like they would be used for—adding something colorful to your curtains. Around windows and walkways are where you will find most uses for curtain lights; however, that’s not to say that you can’t incorporate them into your action figure display. You can utilize the curtain of lights behind your action figure display if the back of the shelves is open or around the doorway to the your display room.

7. Christmas Lights (String Lights)
Christmas lights are used to decorate Christmas trees, wreaths, staircases, and your home in general during the holidays. They can also be used to decorate your action figure display year-round.
What Will Work Best for You?
There are all different types of ways to display your action figure collection. You can use bookshelves, glass display cases, storage cabinets, shelves built into the walls, etc.; and there are a lot of different LED lighting options here and what you choose will depend on what you’re using for your action figure display and what kind of aesthetic you’re trying to achieve.

LEDs give off less UV rays than some of the other lighting options. UV rays are responsible for discoloration in action figure, figurines, and many other types of collectibles.
